Unless you’ve been living under a rock (in which case, call me! We need to get you into a house!), you know the market in Portland, and North Portland specifically, has been booming. Prices have been increasing at blistering rates, and we weren’t sure if it would ever stop. Fortunately for buyers, things are finally starting to calm down, making home ownership a little more feasible than even a couple months ago.
Today, I want to feature a listing of my own in NoPo’s Portsmouth neighborhood. There aren’t too many places you can find in the area for under $300,000 these days, but this cute home is one of them! Take a look at the photos, head to my website to look at the rest of them, and be sure to watch the video tour at the bottom of this post!
Offered at $269,000!
Right off the bat, this home comes with an attached garage and driveway for off street parking! And there’s a covered entryway to the front door. Guests won’t have to stand out in the rain while they wait!
This is a skinny home, so there’s not a huge foyer, but space is used efficiently. You’ll find coat hooks behind the front door, and the entrance from the garage. Straight ahead is the staircase, and to the left, it opens up into the kitchen and main living area (which you can see above). Here, you’ll find a seamless open floor plan and a huge sliding glass door to the backyard. In the living room is a mantled gas fireplace, which will be perfect in a couple months. There’s also a closet under the stairs for extra storage, and it houses a brand new water heater!
Head up the stairs, and you’ll find this bonus den/office area. In my head, I always picture a desk under the window in this picture, and a cozy reading nook in this corner. There’s tons of natural light up here, so it feels big and airy.
The master bedroom has double closets, so you can fit everything inside! The bamboo flooring from the rest of the house continues in here, and there’s a huge window overlooking the backyard. The master also has a full en suite bath with a shower/tub.
The main bathroom is set up very similarly to the master. You’ll see plenty of storage under the sink and another shower/tub. Just across the hall, you’ll find the laundry room. I grew up in a 2 story home with the laundry room on the first floor, so I get irrationally excited whenever I see second floor laundry. Oh, and did I mention all the appliances are included in the purchase price??
The second bedroom is bigger than this picture makes it look. The closet is nice and deep, and this is the only room in the house with carpet. That enormous window you see from the front of the house is in this room, so natural light just pours in.
