Let's talk Turkey…Thanksgiving and Other Events around Portland

Hi Guys!  Sorry I’ve been MIA lately.  It’s been a crazy couple weeks, but here I am! If your year has gone anything like mine, it feels like there’s no way that we’re already at the end of 2015.  BUT, that means that the holiday season is upon us, and I, for one, couldn’t be happier.  There’s no shortage of activities going on around town to put us in the mood of giving thanks and gifts. Whether you want to get the last bit of fall festivities or if you’re just ready for Christmas already, there’s something for you!

I’ve compiled a list of websites that feature event calendars and articles about the goings-on in November and early December.  Even though it’s about to be freezing (literally–the low for tomorrow night is 31 in Portland!) don’t get sucked into the couch yet!  Grab your family, friends, or just yourself and ring in this holiday season with your fellow Oregonians!

Travel Portland is one of my favorite websites.  I first discovered it when I was getting ready to move here, and I still use it to find out what’s happening around town.  The event calendar is really handy, too.  Just click on a date on the right hand side of the page and it will load everything happening that day.

Events12 is a great calendar that higlights some of the best events in Portland.  I’ve found that a good deal of these are kid-friendly, too, so no need to find a sitter!

PDX Pipeline always has long lists of local live entertainments, and often has chances to win tickets!  The list I linked to has a ton of holiday events and bazaars that will help you get a jump on holiday gifts.

Oregon Live (The Oregonian’s website) has compiled a great list of holiday events to keep you going all the way through the new year, complete with a slide show of photos from previous years.

I frequented Red Tricycle a lot when I was working as a nanny.  Their event calendar is filled with family-friendly shows, activities, and festivals perfect for bringing everyone together for the holidays.

I hope this gives you some ideas of things to do as we move into the winter months.  Did I miss anything, or did you go to one of these events?  Let us know about it in the comments!
